Thank-you Event Shows There's No Place Like Home
On November 19th, the Brandon Community Foundation held its 1st ever thank
you event. The event was held at the Brandon Golf Course Banquet Room.
With the participation of Dakota Falls Winery and Wilde Prairie Winery,
the attendees were treated to free wine tasting, Hors d'oeuvres, and
plenty of thanks for the community's support of the Brandon Community
Foundation. Jay Tripp provided piano music.
"The businesses and individuals in Brandon have been so generous with
their support of the Foundation," said Brandon Community Foundation's
President Lisa Marso. "We wanted an opportunity to say thank you and to
let the donors know of the awards made by the Foundation and how the funds
have grown." The event also allowed the Foundation to announce its new
campaign to grow the endowment fund to $500,000.00, supported by its new
theme of "There's No Place Like Home."
Brandon Community Foundation is an endowment fund wherein the interest
earned from the donations can be used to award monies to area
organizations that have a financial need. In the past, awards have been
made to area groups such as Volunteers of America-Brandon, Brandon Fire
Department, youth sport groups (baseball, tennis, soccer, softball, BV
Booster Club), and the Brandon Historical Society. Contributions are tax
deductible.
